If your company releases or contributes to open source, setting up an OSPO (Open Source Program Office) is one of your best options for building a collaborative environment with open source community to better manage and run your projects. However, how do you ensure that your community building goals align with your company’s goals?

In this talk, we will discuss how OSPOs can leverage metrics and data to better understand the activity, community, and processes involved in building an open source community. We will offer examples of how data and metrics from the OSPO can help companies tackle their corporate strategy.

As a use case, we will present the collaboration between active members of two Linux Foundation initiatives: TODO Group and CHAOSS. We will also show how the Uber OSPO works with Bitergia, to better run successful and effective open source projects and programs.
