With a Wikipedia page dedicated to the lack of diversity across the Open Source movement, there is a spotlight shining on this issue and a feeling of urgency by many in the community to address. R Consortium has made an effort to make diversity an ingrained part of its culture, and wants to share our learnings and best practices for helping build a vibrant diverse community, including our partnership with R-Ladies, which includes over 32,000 members across 127 groups representing 40 countries. Hear from R Consortium Board and members as they discuss their experiences in developing this project’s diversity plans and priorities. Get the perspective or those leading R-Ladies to hear first-hand what they are doing to promote gender diversity in the R community, which is has 2 million users across every continent. R is one of the most popular programming languages for Data Science worldwide.
