The competition for developer talent is fierce and companies are bending over backwards and working hard to make it attractive to join them. Many companies are also looking for OSS talent who have unique needs of their employers. OSS survey by the LF shows:
• Hiring open source talent is a priority for 83% of hiring managers, an increase from 76% in 2017.
• Many organizations are getting involved in open source with the express purpose of attracting developers.
Often the OSPO can play a big role in making it easy to attract, retain and develop talent through supporting and making it easy for developers to engage in OSS development and contribution. This talk will share how OSPOs can work with the talent and HR teams to make their companies attractive to prospective developers.
