Managing open source in a software company with 100K employees and office locations around the world comes with lots of challenges. In his presentation, Peter will explain SAP's approach to coping with these challenges through a virtual, cross-functional open source program office (OSPO) team. The OSPO team is working on a joint task backlog in scrum mode with 4 weeks sprints to continuously improve its open source management processes and tools.
One of OSPO's major goals is making open source enterprise-grade at scale by means of automation with open source management tools such as SAP's vulnerability assessment tool. SAP is developing these tools as open source and actively seeking contributions from the community to jointly advance the state of enterprise-grade open source.
